Fortnite: the server crash caused by the Electric Festival! Yet the best example of reverse success?
Looking back on G’s own gaming history, starting from Adventure Island and Fantasy West in the early years, to the later very hot CF, QQ Speed, DNF, etc., then to the popular global LOL, and then the current dominant chicken-type games. The whole game journey has gone more than ten years, large and small online games, contact, played no less than 30 games.Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of “fire” from the “Marshmallow Festival” in Fortress Night! I heard there was an egg, and I invited a group of people to stay up late at night to wait for the egg, but in the end all I got was a variety of server crashes. I had no choice but to wait until the daytime festival to experience it all over again!
After experiencing the Marshmallow Festival, the feeling I got was that it was far better than any other game! I guess that’s one of the reasons why Fortnite is so popular overseas! If you look at the ability of Fortnite to make “eggs”, there is absolutely no other game on the market today that can do that! Where are the eggs in Fortnite, you ask? Well, more eggs have been hidden by Epic in a poster, or on a character, or in an obscure corner ……
Can you imagine players from all over the world piling into the game to watch the festival? Can you imagine the system taking players to another “dimension”? I can’t imagine it until the egg session starts! But I know that only Fortnite can do that! Maybe that’s the unique “life force” of Fortnite.
On the other hand, all the games on the market today are either copied or imitated, either merged or continue to change their shells, only adding to the creativity, and nothing new.
From this, we can also see the many shortcomings of the current domestic game market! Looking back at the games that have caught fire in China in recent years, most of them are imported games, while locally produced, prominent games are basically not on the list. Is this a lack of talent, or a lack of innovation on the part of game companies? Or is it a lack of policy, or the constraints of the times? I think it is worthwhile for the whole gaming industry to reflect on each of these questions.
In the meantime, let’s go back to the “Marshmallow Festival” egg, we can understand that this is a big linkage between the music field and the game field. And the server crash caused by this crossover linkage is a perfect example of the success of the reverse!
There are a lot of electro fans among the players, and many Marshmello followers will venture to this game “event”. We may have missed out on a lot of the big festivals in reality, but in the game we can experience and participate in a “different” festival through special effects, scenery and immersive characters! So it looks like a solid win-win for the game, even if the server crashes are just a good sign for the game!
What else will Fortnite have in store for players? Stay tuned!
